All the women, who are independent
Throw your hands up at me

– Destiny’s Child

We are thrilled to have movies like Wonder Woman and Atomic Blond on the big screen, showing off how badass women are. We are equally stoked to see women continually kicking it in the music industry. With music that empowers others and gives insight to the trials and tribulations of womanhood, music is an outlet for writer and listener alike. While there are so many powerhouse women in the music industry creating songs that speak to the masses, these are just a handful we love who are currently touring.

1. Tegan and Sara

The twin power duo, Tegan and Sara, have been blasting out pop tunes with deep lyrics for decades and are only getting better. Both are outspoken in support of LGBTQ rights. We fell in love with them when they released their album The Con in 2007, and became officially obsessed with their newest album Love You to Death in 2016.

Tour Dates | Currently on a US tour continuing through November
Hit Songs | Closer, Boyfriend, Back In Your Head

2. Lizzo

Looking for some dance-in-your-room-while-getting-ready tracks? Or driving with the windows down on a summer afternoon? Search no further than Lizzo’s fresh mix of pop and hip-hop sounds. She’ll have you feeling Good as Hell with her empowering and down to earth lyrics. You’ll have her EP Coconut Oil released in 2016 on repeat for weeks on end.

Tour Dates | Performances across the US through September
Hit SongsGood as Hell, Phone, Coconut Oil

3. HAIM

HAIM is not your 2000’s rom-com girl band. They are here to rock. Comprised of sisters Este Haim on the bass, Danielle Haim on guitar and lead vocals, and Alana Haim on guitars and the keyboard. Hits from their 2013 album Days Are Gone like The Wire, while catchy, have the emotional lyrics to back it up. Their indie rock musical style and passion for performing make for a mind-blowing live set.

Tour Dates | Touring in the US through October
Hit SongsThe Wire, Want You Back, Little of Your Love

4. Kesha

The amazing Kesha has just released Rainbow, her latest album since Warrior in 2012. Her new album is filled with inspiring songs. Referencing her new single Woman in her essay to Rolling Stone; “It was such a beautiful experience to write such a strong female empowerment song with two men…because it reinforces how supportive men can be of women AND feminism.”

Tour Dates | Currently performing at a variety of venues in the US
Hit SongsPraying, Woman (feat. The Dap-Kings Horns), Tik Tok

Listen to Kesha’s single Woman

5. SZA

SZA’s debut studio album Ctrl has given us life. The dreamy R&B beats and lyrics that are incredibly relatable breathe life through the speakers. Through listening to Ctrl we get a glimpse inside SZA’s mind to hear her triumphs and insecurities. She oozes coolness, and we cannot wait to see her live.

Tour Dates | Touring across the US through December
Hit Songs Love Galore (feat. Travis Scott), The Weekend, Drew Barrymore

Listen to SZA’s album Ctrl

6. Lorde

Lorde killed the game with her debut album Pure Heroine in 2013 and she is back and better than ever with her sophomore album Melodrama. The perfect album to warm up your night and stumble home with at the end. The album was written and produced with Jack Antonoff, the mastermind behind many of your favorite pop songs like Out of the Woods by Taylor Swift. Our personal favorite track from Melodrama, The Louvre, is co-written with Antonoff and Flume and has a eerie but lovable beat that will have you entranced for hours.

Tour Dates | US and International dates through April 2018
Hit Songs | Green Light, Royals, Liability
