The Downtown Women’s Center {DWC} of Los Angeles is one of the most successful organizations working to break cycles of unemployment and homelessness and empower women in the downtown area. MADE is a social enterprise that employs the women of {DWC} to create unique handmade goods and to run two boutiques in downtown LA.

MADE’s Café and Gift Boutique is a bright and cheery storefront at {DWC} near Skid Roe in downtown LA. The café serves organic coffee, teas and pastries sources from local companies like groundwork, Lose Leaf and Homeboy Bakery.

The shop at the Café and Gift Boutique sells MADE’s line of handMADE goods, including soy candles, journals, mugs, jewelry all made by the women of {DWC}. All of the proceeds of the gift items go back to support the downtown women’s center.

The Clothing Resale Boutique is located just a few blocks from the Café and Gift Botique and sells high-end resale clothing and more of handMADE’s line.

The women that work at both the café and boutique are so friendly and eager to tell how {DWC} has made an incredible impact on their life. The stores sell great quality food, gifts and clothing items and for a great cause.
