Move Over, Millennial Pink.

Pantone has announced their newest color for 2018—*drum roll*—it’s Ultra Violet. A stark contrast to 2016’s Rose Quartz/Serenity and 2017’s Greenery, 2018’s ultra violet is a bright thoughtful purple. The color of my childhood bedroom and some of your favorite emojis—like the video game alien and more scandalous eggplant.

Ultra violet has been sneakily popping up everywhere; you can catch it in Fenty’s newest lipstick drop, and if Rihanna’s doing it, you know it’s going to be a ~thing~. This interstellar, Prince’s Purple Rain-inspired color stands out while still being able to fit into your current wardrobe. We’ve compiled some ultra violet pieces from our favorite brands to get ahead of this new trend.

Step into 2018 on an ultra violet light beam…
