It had to be done. We'll spare you a lengthy intro because, well, you get the point. Condoms are a big deal and when people don't have access to them or they aren't made with care, things aren't as they should be. Each of these 7 companies take a unique approach to giving back through their condoms. L Condoms likes to call this World Changing Sex. Here goes:
#1. L Condoms
L Condoms was founded by Talia Frenkal after she saw the impact that HIV/AIDS was having on women and communities in developing countries. L sells fair trade and eco friendly product that is good for the world and for its users. As a certified B Corp, the company gives one condom to a developing community for every one they sell. What’s more, they hire at risk women and girls in developing countries to distribute and deliver the product.
Glyde America offers certified ethical, vegan and fair trade condoms made in worker owned factories without animal testing. As a certified B Corp they’ve donated millions of Condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS and contributed to numerous health and wellness initiatives. Glyde made their first ethical condoms over 20 years ago and have been touting impact and sustainability since before they were a thing.
#3. Sustain Condoms
Sustain was founded by a father daughter team who promise to think about the ethics behind condoms so you don’t have to (at least not in the heat of the moment). The company is a certified B Corp and makes fair trade, non-gmo, vegan condoms and gives 10% back to women’s health.
#4. Sir Richards
Founder Mathew Gerson has been building conscious businesses for a decade and channeled his passion for cause and commerce to start Sir Richards in 2009 when he learned that Condoms are not readily available in many areas of the developing world. The personality packed company gives away a condom for every one sold and even lets customers nominate recipients of the donation. The condoms are vegan and made without chemicals. As Matt likes to say, “Doing Good Never Felt Better”.
