9 Best Bamboo Sheets For An Eco-Friendly Bedroom [2024]
The Good Trade editors endorse products we’ve personally researched, tested, and genuinely love. Learn more about our methodology and business model here.
Our team has researched and tested dozens of bamboo bedsheets for the softest, most durable, and affordable options— these are our top nine picks.
Sourcing cotton is typically a draining and wasteful process, needing 20,000 liters for just two pounds of cotton. With non-organic cotton sheets as the norm in many households, imagine the waste and water used for your king-sized bed alone! But there are sustainable (and even softer) alternatives: bamboo.
Bamboo is grown sustainably without the use of pesticides or insecticides. Using just a fraction of the water needed for sourcing, these eco-friendly alternatives can thrive in areas not typically suited for agriculture. Not only are they porous and hypoallergenic, but they are also antibacterial, moisture-wicking, and some of the softest fibers around.
Are bamboo sheets better than cotton?
According to the Sleep Foundation, both bamboo and cotton bedsheets have their similarities and differences. Bamboo bedsheets typically have a texture similar to silk, and are often more cooling than cotton bedsheets. Cotton on the other hand, comes in a variety of materials and weaves, which range from soft to silk and tend to be more moisture-wicking than bamboo sheets. Both materials excel in durability and temperature regulation, however some believe that cotton sheets are more breathable, while bamboo sheets are longer lasting.
What puts bamboo sheets one step ahead of cotton sheets is their sustainable manufacturing process. Bamboo grows quickly and naturally, and does not require fertilizers, pesticides, or irrigation to sustain itself, meaning it’s lower impact than cultivating cotton. This also means that bamboo cannot technically be certified organic because it grows naturally in the wild! (However it still carries certifications that make it nontoxic and natural.)
Because of their more sustainable production practices, bamboo sheets are sometimes slightly more expensive than traditional cotton. But while the lower impact on our natural resources is worth the cost alone, the fact is that bamboo sheets are also more long lasting and softer than cotton. This is an upgrade that’s made to last.
We’ve found nine bamboo sheets that are as eco-friendly as they are luxurious. You’ll never sleep the same again.
Our criteria:
- QUALITY MATERIALS | We’ve researched and tested these bamboo bed sheets, confirming they are crafted using exceptional materials that are made to last.

ettitude Review | “The material is so soft and cooling. I don’t understand how this material can keep me cool and warm at the same time. I am a hot sleeper and I will never buy any other brand of sheets now that I have used these ( and the Sateen sheets for four years). They are super soft and have remained that way even after multiple washes. They feel durable and strong and have a smooth texture that just makes me never want to get out of bed. I’m sure they will hold up just as well as my Sateen sheets that I purchased four years ago. I thoroughly enjoy my sheets and wished I had splurged on these years ago.
