All of these are built to withstand rain, snow, and sun. If you’re looking for the most sustainable and eco-friendly option, go for a responsibly and sustainably sourced teakwood table. Look for certifications like Forest Steward Council (FSC) Certified for tables made of wood, because it ensures the wood is responsibly sourced. For HDPE, look for tables made from recycled plastic. HDPE is endlessly recyclable, so it’s a good choice for a circular option.

Aram and Michael Terry founded MasayaCo together after Aram finished a Peace Corps assignment in Nicaragua and saw firsthand how abusive forestry practices could negatively impact the environment. From that experience, the idea to create this sustainable and environmentally-friendly furniture brand came to life. From benches to nightstands and everything in between, the furniture from MasayCo is crafted from FSC certified wood that comes from the trees of the brand’s reforestation efforts. The Bistro Outdoor Table is a beautiful example of their craftsmanship and dedication to quality. It’s made from sustainably grown teak and finished with a sealant to protect from mold and weather. Urban Natural is a small, family-owned business based in New Jersey that partners with and sources from different workshops around the world, from Minnesota to Denmark. Regardless of where the pieces are sourced, it all comes back to Urban Natural’s central focus of helping you find high-quality pieces that are free from harmful chemicals and better for the environment. Urban Natural is also part of the Sustainable Furnishings Council. 

You can find a couple bistro tables from Urban Natural. First, the Keene Dining Table from Minnesota-based brand Loll Designs is a great option if you’re looking for a pop of color on your patio. It comes in over 10 color options, from bright red to navy blue. The table is made from recycled high-density polyethylene made from milk jug containers. Every part of the table can be recycled again, and Loll encourages customers to return their products after they’re done using them so they can be recycled again. The Pico Cafe Table is a more classic circular bistro table from Danish design brand HOUE. The durable and made-to-last table is made from powder-coated aluminum and steel, and comes in seven colors ranging from bright pops of color to muted neutrals. Note that both tables are final sale.
