We’re hemp-obsessed.

This incredibly sustainable, multi-purpose plant is everywhere: hemp fibers for woven bags, marijuana to relax the body, hemp milk as a dairy substitute, and increasingly, hemp seed oil for all your beauty needs.

The ever-popular oil is one of the most buzzed-about beauty ingredients for good reason—hemp seed oil is known as “the most balanced seed oil” and rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and contains all 21 known amino acids. Not to be confused with CBD oil, which is extracted from the plant’s flowers, this beautiful olive oil green oil is made from cold-pressing hemp seeds and has no psychoactive properties. Got sensitive skin? Hemp gets your vibe: it’s antibacterial, doesn’t clog pores, calms redness in skin, and even includes some UV protectant. If that’s not screaming “unicorn beauty product,” we don’t know what is.

Also called cannabis or cannabis sativa oil, here are 10 of our favorite hemp-based beauty products to chill you out—legal, natural, and THC-free.

1. Hempme Organic Face Cream

Price | $38

Founded by a couple out of their Melbourne apartment, Hempme is all about creating a sustainable future through the hemp plant. Case-in-point: its lightweight face cream comes in a plastic-free biodegradable tube, and features only organic and cruelty-free ingredients. This everyday face cream (which you can pair with its pink clay hemp cleanser) is versatile enough for summer to winter to plump and nourish the skin. Already picked up by Urban Outfitters, the Hempme organic face cream pairs perfectly with jojoba, aloe, and chamomile for an extra dose of chill vibes. Cool, calm, and collected.

2. Herbivore Hemp Seed Deep Moisture Glow Oil

Price | $48

One of our favorite brands is at it again. Flash-absorbing yet glow-giving, this hemp seed oil from Herbivore is simple, just like the minimalist aesthetic of the brand. It works together with squalane to lock in moisture, and help the skin cope with environmental stressors like pollution, UV rays, lack of sleep, and daily stress. Simple, yet powerful, this product is dubbed the “green goddess” of the brand’s facial oils.

3. Origins Hello, Calm™ Hydrating Face Mask

Price | $28

Origins is back at it with its newest hemp-based face mask, which has an aromatic, therapeutic scent that instantly de-stresses the skin (seriously!). A brand famous for its charcoal face mask, Hello, Calm™ is bound to be no exception. Apply a matcha-green layer for a perfect night in, and wipe off the excess 10 minutes later… fast and furiously effective. We love how hydrating this mask is, and you’ll immediately notice less visible skin irritation after use.

4. MALIN+GOETZ Cannabis Hand + Body Wash

Price | $24

The luxe skincare line started by two New Yorkers has tapped into the budding hemp seed oil trend with its new hand and body wash. A gentle foaming formula for all skin types, the trademark aromatic smell of cannabis is one that lingers on the body with this wash. Want something even stronger? Pick up a votive, candle or perfume oil of the citrus, woodsy scent to feel that constant chill.

5. Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate

Price | $49

This concentrated hemp seed oil formula is “inspired by Kiehl’s heritage as an old-world apothecary” and has an Italian touch with its accompanying oregano oil. 6. Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil

Price | $24.99

If you’re still hesitant to try hemp, you can try Mad Hippie’s au-naturale oil, which features a little bit of everything.
