Constructed with only local or repurposed products (the side of the home is cork!), the 400-square-foot home was built by a group of friends in only five months. An affordable, eco-friendly dwelling for beach lovers and surf bums, the Modern Beach Container Home sits on the sand 15 miles south of Wilmington, North Carolina. According to its owners, the small beach town was recently overcome with builders cutting down all of the trees for luxurious beach houses. In an effort to preserve the vegetation and provide an example of small space living, they built two container homes that are located two blocks from the ocean.
