A Stylish Home, Secondhand

Since we’ll be spending the majority of time close to home this summer, it may be time to think about upgrading our furniture by seeking out newer styles or sturdier sets. Now, thanks to the beauty of online and app-based marketplaces, you can pare down your space or liven it up—without even having to leave it.

We’ve scoured app stores to find seven that feature thrifted and secondhand furniture from around the world, including mahogany desks, re-upholstered kitchen chairs, and vintage cabinet pulls. These apps are proof that one person’s trash really can be another person’s (sustainable!) treasure, so go ahead and get to downloading.

(Psst—the only home item that is difficult to thrift successfully is a mattress! Head to our guide to eco-friendly mattresses instead.)
