Summary: Hiya Kids Daily Hydration is a kid-friendly electrolyte drink mix designed to support hydration, digestion, and overall wellbeing without added sugar or artificial ingredients. Formulated with balanced electrolytes, real fruit powders, and prebiotic fiber, it’s tailored to children’s needs during active play, hot days, illness, or everyday hydration. In practice, it proved both enjoyable for kids and reassuring for a parent seeking clean, minimal, science-backed nourishment.

What I love:

  • Clean, thoughtfully formulated with no added sugar, artificial dyes, or unnecessary fillers, and third-party tested for safety
  • Kid-approved taste from real fruit powders, making water more appealing without sugary juices or sports drinks
  • Includes electrolytes plus prebiotic fiber and bonus nutrients to support hydration, gut health, immunity, and stable energy

Things to keep in mind:

  • Powder requires extra stirring or a frother to fully dissolve
  • May feel unnecessary for kids who already hydrate well with plain water
  • As a supplement, it’s an added cost compared to water or homemade hydration options

I watch from the kitchen window as my two children ride their scooters in the cul-de-sac with the other neighborhood kids. He’s two, she’s four, and they have respective blue and pink scooters that light up when they get going fast enough. The dads chat with each other close by, spaced far enough apart to serve as a barrier between the kids and the open world beyond our street.

So much of parenthood centers around keeping our little ones regulated, which is why if you ask me for parenting advice, I won’t have much to say other than this: When in doubt, go outside, keep them nourished, and sneak in as many snuggles as possible. These practices are tried and true in our day-to-day lives and, in my experience, the fastest way to better sleep, generally cheerful moods, and happy, growing kids.

“My north stars are prioritizing protein when possible, encouraging hydration, and incorporating fiber when we can.”

As for nourishment, my north stars are prioritizing protein when possible, encouraging hydration, and incorporating fiber when we can (this is the hardest one for us!). All of this keeps their blood sugar levels stable and their digestion moving, leading to brains and bodies that are active and properly processing the world around them.

As a mother, my mind is constantly scanning my surroundings for the best, most efficient ways to keep us all well and thriving, and I approach any tools that can support us in this way with cautious optimism. I lean more minimal when it comes to supplements, but I’d heard about Hiya’s good reputation and was intrigued when I read about their formulation that includes balanced minerals and prebiotic fiber.

About Hiya

Hiya is a kids’ supplement brand founded in 2019 by two dads, Darren Litt and Adam Gillman, who were frustrated by the lack of healthy options for children’s vitamins after seeing popular gummy supplements that were high in sugar and artificial additives. They wanted a cleaner, science-backed alternative they could confidently give their own kids, so they teamed up with pediatricians and nutritionists to formulate products with essential nutrients and no added sugar or unnecessary fillers.

“Their products use carefully selected, transparent ingredients, avoid artificial dyes and sugars, and are made in cGMP-compliant facilities.”

From the start, Hiya has emphasized high safety and ingredient standards. Their products use carefully selected, transparent ingredients, avoid artificial dyes and sugars, and are made in cGMP-compliant facilities.

Every batch of Hiya’s supplements is third-party tested for contaminants such as heavy metals and microbes — one of the first things I personally look for in a supplement — and most of their products have been independently validated for purity and earned independent certifications like the Clean Label Project, including the hydration support.

Do kids really need a hydration supplement?

As a mother trying to strike the ever-elusive balance between doing all I can for my children and keeping overwhelm at bay, my first question regarding supplemental hydration was this: Do kids really need a hydration supplement? And if so, can’t they just have some of mine?

“Do kids really need a hydration supplement? And if so, can’t they just have some of mine?”

Here is what I learned: Hydration support is most important during active play or sports, hot days, and whenever kids are likely to sweat or need additional hydration, like when they’re traveling or under the weather. Furthermore, because children’s electrolyte needs and palates differ from adults’, this kid-targeted blend helps maintain fluid balance without excess sodium or added sugars, making it suitable for everyday use, school days, and on-the-go hydration.

Hiya Kids Daily Hydration is a gentle, kid-friendly electrolyte drink mix designed to make water more appealing while supporting healthy hydration throughout the day. Unlike traditional sugary sports drinks, it’s formulated with real fruit powders — including strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, orange, and lemon — that give a naturally fruity taste without artificial dyes or sweeteners. These fruit powders come from concentrated real fruits, providing flavor and a small amount of vitamin C while keeping the ingredient list clean and recognizable.

The formula balances key electrolytes like potassium, sodium, and magnesium with Himalayan pink salt and coconut water to help replenish minerals kids lose through play, illness, sports, or warm weather activity. My favorite thing about Hiya’s hydration for kids is that it also includes prebiotic fiber from artichoke inulin to support gut health, digestion, immunity, and stabilize blood sugar levels, and bonus nutrients like vitamin C, calcium, and iron.

Unboxing and first sips

As any parent knows, a small task can seemingly take ages, which can be a drag if you’re trying to get somewhere in a hurry. But this can also be a gift if you’d like to turn a simple task into an activity! That’s exactly what we did with our Hiya bundles.

Each kit comes with its own package of stickers to personalize their containers, so of course, we got to work right away. Afterward, my daughter enjoyed pouring the powder into their containers, and my son enjoyed licking the remnants off the countertop.

Unprompted, my daughter said, “Tasty! Thank you, mama,” when she had her first sips. I mean, that’s about as good as it gets as far as kid reviews go! I tried it too, and honestly, I am happy to polish off the rest of theirs when they inevitably get distracted and run off to play. It reminds me of strawberry lemonade, and I plan to serve it to them over ice and with a crazy straw on hot summer days later in the year.

I’ll note that the powder takes quite a bit of stirring to dissolve, and I recommend using a frother for more seamless mixing. Nevertheless, if you don’t have a frother, putting it in their water bottle at the beginning of the day, giving it a few good shakes, and leaving it to finish dissolving on the countertop ahead of school drop-off works well, too.

My favorite thing about Hiya’s hydration for kids is not only is it a fun treat I can give to my kids that serves as a highlight in their day, but it’s also a steady reinforcement to their immune, nervous system, and gut health. Happy juice for them, sigh of relief for me.

Final thoughts

I recommend Hiya’s hydration support as a helpful tool in any parent’s arsenal that can support kids’ hydration, digestion, and overall wellbeing. It’s also a fantastic alternative if you have a chronic juice drinker and would like to transition them to something with less sugar and more health benefits.

When you receive your bundle in the mail, be sure to clear the hour ahead — mix some potions, craft with stickers, and make some memories together! Such things are the most nourishing parts of their childhood, after all.

Don’t forget to cheers for healthy hydration!
