Holiday Outfit Inspo
From Our Favorite Ethical Fashion Bloggers

Cheers to the season of parties with family and friends, fireside snuggling, and coats galore! It’s bittersweet to lose the sunshine and warmer days of summer, but winter is the best season to turn inward, reflect on how your year is going, and dive into the books you’ve been meaning to read all year long.

As we plan our capsule wardrobe for the season, we’re taking note of the holiday parties on our calendar. Soirees with friends, celebrations with family, and happy hours with coworkers are all on our lists, and we’re aiming to shop our closets first. This year, we’re all about monochrome in unexpected tones, bold red lips, and layer-able silhouettes, which means we’re looking to our favorite sustainable fashion bloggers to get our creative ideas flowing.

Our love of secondhand and upcycled clothing knows no bounds, so consider this a mood board for your thrifting adventures—or, if something catches your eye, we have suggestions of where to find similar sustainably-made pieces below each outfit!

1. Festive Warm Tones

Diana of The Chic Diary puts a twist on monochrome by opting for a warm red-brown tone. Recreate this festive look by layering the same color, and play with textures and weights of fabrics if you want a little extra spice.

2. Snow Day!

Who else misses the liberating feeling of a snow day? Recreate those cheerful vibes with an all-white outfit. Again, going monochrome means you can have some fun with texture, like Aja from Aja With Love does with this white satin blouse. Pair with light mules or a statement boot. Pop on a camel-colored coat, and you’re all set.

3. Classic Crimson

Whenever I think of holiday parties, I instantly think of a deep red dress and black shoes—it’s such a festive outfit that’s also super versatile in other seasons. Style blogger Lindsey Brown is wearing a rented dress here, which is also an excellent option for special occasions or black-tie holiday parties.

4. The Color Pop

Marielle Elizabeth has a minimalist style that we’re constantly swooning over. And, yes, this is another monochromatic look—but look how chic it is! Take her lead and add a pop of color with lipstick and a statement coat for a great day-to-night outfit. We also love the idea of layering a sheer top under a jumpsuit to get some more cold-weather wears out of our summer wardrobe.

5. A Ribbon On Top

There’s a distinct mood change between a deep red and a bright ribbon-colored red, and both will have you feeling like the gift you are this holiday season. Blogger and podcaster Kamea Chayne stuns in a shiny red dress and proves that a red lip is the best accessory this season. If you’re in sub-zero temps, add some black tights or socks for a little extra warmth.

6. Belle Of The Blazer

Not all holiday parties call for red dresses and strappy heels. Take notes from Signe, the blogger behind Use Less, who’s pulled together the best in casual party attire. A blazer and statement boots are perfect for a low-key outing, whether you’re going to a Friendsgiving or a holiday happy hour with your coworkers. Pair with your favorite white t-shirt and your go-to necklaces for a cute and casual party outfit.

7. Jumpers & Jewels

Aditi from Adimay is one of our favorite sustainable bloggers to follow thanks to her thoughtful features and superb photography. Head-to-toe gold and khaki tones make for an unexpected holiday look, and statement jewelry polishes off this outfit perfectly. Pair with a black bag for a little extra *pop,* and you’ll be set for whatever the party has in store for you.
