Summer is just around the corner—and that means it’s time to bust out the breezy basics, the straw hats, and other warm-weather clothes. If you’re packing away your winter sweaters and bringing out the sundresses and shorts, you’ve probably noticed any gaps you might have in your summertime wardrobe. Here’s a secret: a good pair of linen pants can fill pretty much all of them.

Linen is one of the most sustainable fabrics around—it’s durable, moisture-wicking and cooling, and doesn’t take much water to grow. It’ll protect you from the sun while keeping you cool in the summer but still hold in heat for those chilly nights or colder months. And it’s biodegradable and requires little special care.

These seven brands make linen pants for any situation you’ll find yourself in this summer. Some are perfect baggy, comfy replacements for sweatpants, and some are office-ready—but most fall somewhere in between and will take you from the beach to dinner with pretty much zero effort. With tons of different fits, lengths, and colors below, read on to find the perfect summer pant that works for you.
