9 Best Bamboo & Organic Cotton Socks For 2024
The Good Trade editors endorse products we’ve personally researched, tested, and genuinely love. Learn more about our methodology and business model here.
We’ve researched and tested dozens of organic cotton and bamboo socks—these are our favorite options for their natural materials, comfort, and ethics across a range of price points.
When it comes to daily wardrobe choices, socks are typically left out of the equation. When in fact having comfy and cozy socks can elevate our mood, especially for those of us with chronically cold feet (no pun intended!). With regular socks, we find that they have holes after just a few wears or can be a bit scratchy, especially if they were made with artificial fabrics. Instead, we deserve comfy and conscious natural socks to keep our toes happy and our skin soothed.
Why consider organic cotton or bamboo socks?
We recommend organic socks because of their sustainability, environmental, and ethical features (as well as the health benefits). Organic materials such as organic cotton support sustainable agriculture as they are farmed using methods that have minimal impact on our ecosystems, compared to conventional fabrics. This includes crop rotation practices which help improve soil health and water conservation practices, to help prevent water waste. Organic cotton is also biodegradable, which helps fight pollution! Organic cotton producers also support socially responsible labor practices, meaning each purchase supports the ethical and fair treatment of garment workers.
It’s also important to note that because socks are in close contact with our skin, going for an organic fabric with fewer chemicals can prevent irritation—and also keep our feet dry/most comfortable, especially since bamboo is super breathable. Moreover, it’s soft and just feels great on our feet!
Our criteria:
We’ve personally tested each of the following socks, assessing the fabric comfort, quality, texture, thickness, and fit. We update this list regularly with our emerging favorites that meet the following criteria:
