Summary: After testing out all three of Pact’s Organic Cotton Bedding Collections, I can confidently say that I am switching from my long-held preference for fancy linen sheets to Pact’s cotton options. The brand’s cotton percale is a home run for anyone who needs sheets that offer both breathability and crisp comfort. Thanks to the 100% organic cotton composition, which features unique cooling technology, these sheets are perfect for hot sleepers like me.

Pros

  • Each sheet set from Pact felt like I was sleeping in a hotel bed — so luxe.
  • Each set passed my wash test without degrading. They got pleasantly softer with every wash.
  • The ultra-light cotton fabrics in Pact’s bedding kept me cool and comfortable all night long.
  • I love that the brand’s sheets, quilts, and other organic products are all sustainably and ethically made with a Fair Trade certification.
  • Pact purchases come with a 60-day Sweet Dreams Guarantee for risk-free testing.

Cons

  • While I love a crisp white sheet set, the rest of the color options are limited compared to other brands.

There’s a TikTok trend where people show off their “normal” houses. While we’re accustomed to seeing the extravagant lives of people on social media, this trend is kind of a reset. Don’t feel behind, it says. And for me, the most powerful part is seeing how people like me still make their homes feel special and intentional while sticking to a budget.

I love interior design content. But so much design advice looks like time-extensive DIYs or unrealistic room makeovers. That’s why I appreciate the “normal” house trend, for inspiring me to take the time to make the little changes I can to make my home feel special. One accessible improvement? A bedding refresh.

“Bedding is so underrated but makes such a big impact on how a room feels.”

Bedding is so underrated but makes such a big impact on how a room feels. I grew up in the girl-blogging era of Tumblr, so I reblogged countless photos of girls lounging on their beds, or showing off their morning coffee on their crisp, white sheets. As someone who shared a room until I was 21 — first with my siblings, then roommates in boarding school and undergrad — I loved romanticizing the small space of my twin bed. It was mine, from the postcards I had tacked above it to the patterned sheets I chose. But when I started living alone, I prioritized the big things like my bedframe and my couch. Now, I’m at a point where I understand how much details matter. I’m savoring how lucky I am to be able to care about the little things. They impact your life in more ways than you realize.

I recently got a new mattress (the Awara, a game changer for hot sleepers) and, upgrading from a double to a queen, I bought a set of cheap sheets on sale with the intention of changing them later. That was months ago. Now, I’m finally making the switch to better bedding. As a certified hot sleeper, I realized that my mattress might be doing its best to keep me cool, but my cheap sheets were sabotaging me. Even in LA winter, I found myself tossing and turning and running hot.

“I tried all three of Pact’s bedding collections, which are all organic cotton fabrics with different finishes.”

As someone who is perpetually busy, a bad night’s sleep can start a domino effect that digs me into a deep hole. According to sleep studies, temperature plays a crucial role in sleep quality. And the verdict is in: A cool environment equals better sleep. Enter Pact bedding.

I tried all three of Pact’s bedding collections, which are all organic cotton fabrics with different finishes: The Organic Cotton Cool-Air Percale Sheet Set, The Organic Cotton Jersey Sheet Set, and The Room Service Organic Sateen Sheet Set.

Below are my notes on the brand, and on my time spent between the sheets!

About Pact

Pact’s offering is simple: Sustainable cotton sleep essentials. Thanks to Pact’s commitment to organic materials and Fair Trade practices, they offer climate-friendly luxury bedding made with ethical manufacturing. They partner with Fair Trade USA, Global Organic Textile Standard, and SimpliZero to ensure responsible and ethical practices at every part of the production chain. GOTS makes sure that their cotton is 100% certified organic, while SimpliZero helps measure their impact and offset their carbon through projects that sequester carbon from the atmosphere, and they work with Fair Trade Certified™ factories to ensure safe working conditions and community support to those working on site.

Pact’s sheets are 100% organic cotton, which means their production uses 81% less water and 62% less energy to be produced than a conventional sheet set. Their cotton sheets come in 3 different weaves: Cool-Air Percale, Room Service Sateen, and Favorite Jersey Tee — and they also offer bedding accessories like quilts. Compared to other brands with pages of products, the list of their offerings is small but their impact is mighty!

Here’s what I tried from Pact:

My review of Pact’s organic bedding

As I was unboxing my Pact sheets, I was delighted to see there was not one single-use plastic to be found! My bedding arrived in reusable cloth bags — including one super cute mini tote bag that I will be using to hold my keys and my book on walks to the coffee shop — and wrapped in recyclable paper packaging. This was already a good sign, as many so-called sustainable brands still ship their products in single-use plastics.

Now, I’ve been a linen sheet girl for years — mostly for the aesthetic it offered the room. But real, 100% linen can get expensive. So I’ve mostly been buying linen blends. I’ve come to realize that many of these blends are not doing me any favors as a hot sleeper. While I love the feel (and look) of my linen-blend sheets, I was ready to convert back to cotton if it promised cooler nights.

I tried each of Pact’s Organic Cotton sheets, and now I can safely say that I made the right choice. They felt fresh, crisp, and breathable — while also cozy and high-quality. And as someone who tends to wake up feeling overheated, I immediately noticed a difference. Over the course of a few nights and a wash, the sheets softened slightly without losing their crispness.

I was afraid that I would have to sacrifice the luxury aesthetic for my sleep quality when I switched to cotton sheets, but dare I say … they make my room look better? Every time I get in bed, I am reminded of the feeling of a luxurious hotel bed. Each weave felt unique, but all of them felt quality.

Here is my verdict on each of them:

Organic Cotton Cool-Air Percale Sheet Set | White | $150 (Queen)

These percale sheets were my favorite on every account: Looks, feel, and cooling power. I was wary of these, because they feel the closest to synthetic fibers I had bad experiences with, but the difference was immediately clear. While polyester sheets often feel like sheets of paper on your skin, the percale sheets are crisp without being uninviting. On the contrary, they feel like hotel-quality sheets that I look forward to jumping into every night.

And thanks to its loose, plain weave, percale is one of the most breathable fabrics. It felt the most notably cool on my skin all night and didn’t cling to the skin. After washing, I noticed the fabric had softened up without losing its structure. Making the bed with these sheets was effortless — especially thanks to the “top” and “side” labels that avoid any confusion. The fitted sheet had deep pockets that stayed put, and the pillowcases were roomy without being oversized. The duvet cover was the most pleasantly surprising. I am so excited about the clean, structured look it brings to my bed.

Organic Cotton Jersey Sheet Set | Wheat Heather | $150 (Queen)

If you’ve ever wanted to sleep wrapped in your favorite worn-in t-shirt, these are the sheets for you. I am new to jersey fabric sheets, so they definitely had a unique texture I hadn’t tried before. I was intrigued by the ultra-soft, slightly stretchy material. It delivers a casual, cozy vibe to my bed and is the most inviting material of the three.

While I run hot in my sleep no matter what the temperature is, I am sensitive to the cold as I fall asleep. These jersey sheets were the least cool to the touch when I entered the bed — ideal for cooler nights when I wanted a little extra warmth without feeling weighed down.

“If you’ve ever wanted to sleep wrapped in your favorite worn-in t-shirt, these are the sheets for you.”

Unlike some jersey sheets that pill easily, these held up beautifully after washing. And making the bed with them was easy. They also had the helpful “top” and “side labels.” Plus the jersey material is inherently stretchy so I didn’t have to struggle to pull the material over the corners. They sit snugly and fit to my bed like a dream.

Jersey is still a great option for hot sleepers thanks to its knit weave that promotes better airflow and heps dissipate body heat at night. The way they clung to my body was comforting, but it was a little less of a cool sleep than the percale. I recommend these sheets for anyone who loves a soft, cozy sleep experience above all.

Room Service Organic Sateen Sheet Set | Spray Green | $160 (Queen)

For anyone who craves a touch of luxury, Pact’s sateen sheets are the way to go. They have a silky, buttery texture that feels like an upscale silk sheet with less of a shine and more of a cool texture. That’s thanks to the cotton material makeup. Aesthetics-wise, I loved their subtle sheen and how they draped effortlessly over the bed. These were the closest in look and feel to my linen sheets, so I loved the aesthetic they gave to my room.

Coming in the shade Spray Green, I will say the hue is more like an earthy moss/almost-brown than a green. I like how they look, but the color is definitely less bright than it looks online. After a wash, they lose some of the shininess, but feel just as soft with no pilling, shrinking, or fading. They also wrinkle quite a bit, but I hit them with my trusty “crease release” spray before drying and they came out smooth. Overall, I love the vibe of the sateen and would recommend it for anyone who wants cotton sheets without sacrificing a luxury look!

Organic Cotton Quilt | White | $220 (Queen)

I am obsessed with this quilt. I had another quilt that felt heavy and bulky and certainly didn’t help with my hot sleeping — so much so that I gave it away. I’ve been avoiding getting another because, while I like adding the layer to my bedding aesthetic, I didn’t like how it felt. This cotton quilt is my new favorite addition to my bed. It is the perfect complement to the percale sheets. Made entirely from organic cotton, it offered just the right amount of warmth without feeling heavy. It also gives me some satisfying weight without being bulky and overheating.

It’s super lightweight and easy to fold and style on the bed. I loved that it was machine washable and didn’t pill or dull in the wash, making it a practical choice for everyday use — even though it’s white. I can’t rave about it enough.

Organic Cotton Quilt | Spray Green | $220 (Queen)

Surprisingly, the spray green version of the quilt feels and looks very different to the white. The weave is more square and has more of a tufted look and feel. It is a little more thick and puffy, but also not too bulky. However, it is a little heavier to maneuver or arrange on the bed. I’ve been loving it most for mornings or evenings on the couch, so I think I’ll keep it as a wintery blanket in my living room.

Organic Quilted Sham | Spray Green | $75 (2-Pack)

Like the green quilt, this sham set has a more tufted feel which I love on a pillow. It adds a great textured look to my pillow stack while also being comfy enough to sleep on. Like the green sheet set, the color is a little closer to a brown than a green, but I am still loving how it looks on the bed.

So, is Pact’s organic bedding worth it?

Pact’s Organic Cotton Cool-Air Percale Sheets and Organic Quilt are going to be my new bedding staples. They delivered everything I was looking for — cooling comfort, sustainability, durability, and an aesthetic worthy of my Tumblr dreams. If you’re a hot sleeper, go for the Cool-Air Percale — it’s lightweight, breathable, and keeps you cool all night long. If you love soft, stretchy comfort, the Jersey Sheet Set is perfect for that just-worn-in feel. And if luxury is your priority, the Sateen Sheets bring a luxe vibe to your bedroom.

“They delivered everything I was looking for — cooling comfort, sustainability, durability, and an aesthetic worthy of my Tumblr dreams.”

For me, Pact’s bedding refresh was exactly what I needed. While the price point is higher than other cotton sheets out there, it’s still lower than many other luxury bedding options while delivering ethical practices I can stand behind and a nontoxic guarantee. It’s also more affordable than linen sheets, with the same measure of luxury and comfort. Plus with their 60-day Sweet Dreams Guarantee, you can try any set risk-free and return it if it’s not the perfect fit. Consider me a convert!
