Why I’m Committing To Seed Cobiotics This Year (Review)
Summary: After 60 days of use, these three new supplements from Seed โ the DM-02โข Daily Multivitamin, the AM-02โข Daily Energy + Focus, and the PM-02โข Sleep + Restore โ have my energy feeling grounded, consistent, and even my sleep has been more restful. Iโm noticing my fingernails and hair are growing faster! These are ideal for folks who want more support than a standard multivitamin provides, and for users who want to streamline their supplement game with a single brand that does it all. These arenโt a fit for folks who are already dialed in on other supplement routines, or folks with highly sensitive stomachs (or if you donโt typically take your supplements with food). If you take any prescription meds, definitely talk to your doctor!
What I love:
- After 60 days of use, Iโve noticed more consistent energy and attention thanks to the DM-02โข Daily Multivitaminโs robust nutritional support; in that time I only got sick once during extensive travel and my recovery time was noticeably shorter than it would have been without the supplement.
- While I wasnโt as consistent with the AM-02โข Daily Energy + Focus, it did have a marked impact on my focus levels throughout the day; as someone who takes stimulants for ADHD, I didnโt use this one as frequently.
- The PM-02โข Sleep + Restore was my very favorite! It smoothed my transition to sleeping, and calmed both my mind and body as I prepared for bed. And even with the melatonin, thereโs no grogginess in the morning.
- The subscription is handy, and once you purchase your supplements in their glass bottles, the brand sends subsequent deliveries in lightweight foil packets to save on packaging and shipping.
Things to note:
- While I LOVE the sustainability of glass jars with easy refills, I did break one on my many travels. So, either travel with a plastic case or be more careful than I was!
- These pills are big! At least, larger than other supplements Iโve taken in the past. And with the DM-01 and AM-02, thereโs a โyeastyโ flavor that sensitive folks might not enjoy.
- Speaking of sensitivity, taking DM-01 with food in your system is highly recommended; I had a couple pretty rough mornings before I figured out I needed to take it with food.
- Individually the cost might not be super prohibitive, but the cost for all three would total about $110 for each month.
Optimal healthspan. Increased longevity. Improved energy.
Weโre all bombarded by the world of wellness with new ways to track and โhackโ our health in order to be our most vibrant selves. To some extent, I welcome this new era of self-focus; Iโve known for a long while that in order to show up as our best selves for the people we care most about, we first must show up for ourselves. The old โput your oxygen mask on before helping othersโ spiel that frequent air travelers know all too well.
On the flip side, though, all this talk can put an undue amount of pressure on us to be perfect. Like, somehow, if we forgo all the frivolous pleasures of life and dedicate ourselves to clean living 100% of the time, weโll transcend to some new level of existence and understanding. At least, thatโs how Iโve felt about the wellness world as I try to seek the right balance for myself.
“To some extent, I welcome this new era of self-focus…though, all this talk can put an undue amount of pressure on us to be perfect.”
But as I age (I turned 36 years old in 2026, still young but not that young), Iโve noticed certain things slowing down and progress flattening out. Iโm at a threshold, and itโs time to start doing even just a little bit more to support my body as she carries me through this mortal plane. So, in addition to lifestyle tweaks โ and some overhauls, tbh โ Iโm adding in supplements to my daily routine to help me get on track and feeling my best.
Meet Seed and the CoโBiotics line
All of this is why Seedโs newest additions to their supplement lineup caught my attention: DM-02โข for daily support, AM-02โข for focus and energy, and PM-02โข for sleep. As a former supplement mix-and-matcher, itโs a relief to feel like everything gets handled by the same brand.
“As a former supplement mix-and-matcher, itโs a relief to feel like everything gets handled by the same brand.”
Seed is part wellness brand, part biotech company coโfounded by Ara Katz and Raja Dhir around 2015. The brandโs flagship product was DSโ01, a daily synbiotic that combined clinicallyโstudied probiotic strains with prebiotics and a heavy emphasis on microbiome education. (Iโve also taken this one and am reminded I need a refill!)
The brandโs core proposition is that a healthy gut can change your life โ and their team of scientists and doctors have the experience to prove it.
These new supplements, added to the Seed family in 2025, feature the DM-02โข Daily Multivitamin, the AM-02โข Daily Energy + Focus, and the PM-02โข Sleep + Restore. DMโ02 is an advanced multivitamin with a gutโdirected inner capsule; AMโ02 offers caffeineโfree nootropic support for focus; and PMโ02 leans on lowโdose melatonin, ashwagandha, and microbial metabolites for gentler sleep support. Basically, this trio follows up on the foundation that DS-01 laid by offering a more robust AM/PM routine to support even better microbiome health.
My health context and goals
Why am I adding supplements to my routine now? To put it succinctly, Iโve been through a lot, and itโs catching up with me.
For the longer story: In the past few years, Iโve gained over 30 pounds โ Iโve had no pregnancies or health conditions that have impacted my weight. While I donโt believe weight is a health indicator, the physical changes Iโve been through have me thinking more deeply about the processes that are influencing this change (aging and hormones are, of course, big ones!).
“Why am I adding supplements to my routine now? To put it succinctly, Iโve been through a lot, and itโs catching up with me.”
Hereโs a sampling of what has happened in the past several years: my career has grown, I moved apartments, I got divorced, said goodbye to two dear grandparents and four beloved house rabbits, adopted two cats, and lost and rebuilt community. This past month alone has seen disrupted routines, general fatigue, and rigorous travel.
Thereโs not just one conclusion here, but if I had to draw one, itโd be that Iโm more stressed these days and the cracks in my wellness routine are starting to show โ in my life, on my face, and in my emotional wellbeing.
My current health needs are bountiful to say the least; here are the aspects Iโm working on that I feel Seedโs co-biotics will be able to help me with:
- Improving my digestion and achieving that elusive gut-brain health optimization as a busy person with an irregular eating schedule (donโt worry, Iโm working on that, too!)
- Improve my focus and daytime energy in a sustainable, noticeable way โ in addition to the prescription stimulants I take as-needed for ADHD
- Get rest thatโs actually restful (Iโm a vivid dreamer, and it impacts me significantly physically, mentally, and emotionally)
How I tested these
Iโve been taking these supplements for around 60 days, and Iโm including my adherence rate for full transparency below โ youโll see that I havenโt quite gotten to my goal of daily doses, but itโs a big step forward for me all the same. Plus, I think itโs a little more realistic for those of us who are just starting out on a journey like this!
“Iโve been taking these supplements for around 60 days, and Iโm including my adherence rate for full transparency.”
I typically take my prescription medicine first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, and circle back to the multivitamin a few hours later. From there, I take the energy and focus supplement about an hour or two after that, and finally the sleep supplement right at bedtime.
The outcomes Iโm sharing here are based on how Iโve felt, as well as some insights pulled in from my Oura ring, smart scale, and other wellness wearables.
My review of Seedโs DMโ02โข Daily Multivitamin
Adherence rate: 80%
Over the past 60 days taking this, I have noticed an uptick in my consistent energy levels (and more since Iโve also added the AM-02 supplement). I traveled 16 days out of the 31 days in March and only got sick once with a pretty short recovery time, a victory I also attribute to the supplements. Typically, travel like that would have taken me out of commission a lot sooner. My nails are growing faster than ever, which is also rare for me. I canโt help but tap-tap my fingers on everything these days. ๐๐
This multi, in particular, did come with some additional considerations. Iโve always been a bit extra sensitive to multis that contain zinc and find that some sit better with me than others. I once even had a nighttime multi routine because theyโd make me nauseous every time I took it during my waking hours.
But compared to the basic drugstore multis Iโve taken in the past, DMโ02 feels more intentional in its formulation; I love that it loops in more non-traditional multivitamin ingredients like prebiotic and postbiotic compounds, in addition to 100% of the daily value for 20 essential vitamins and minerals. A one-stop shop!
“It loops in more non-traditional multivitamin ingredients like prebiotic and postbiotic compounds, in addition to 100% of the daily value for 20 essential vitamins and minerals. A one-stop shop!”
With the powerful formulation, though, itโs important to note that sensitive tummies will take some time to adjust. Between a large pill size, a taste I can only describe as โyeastyโ, and a need to take this with food, makes it particularly challenging for me. About 15 minutes from taking the dose, I usually burp and taste the supplement all over again, which isnโt my favorite.
If youโve ever had that multivitamin nausea like me, please, please, please take this daily multi with food! If I take it on an empty stomach, I get nauseous about 30 minutes after taking the supplement โ admittedly, Iโve even had to get sick in some bushes on my morning walk because of it (so embarrassing). My guess is that itโs the zinc โ possibly even the CoQ10 or the probiotic blend โ but either way it gets pretty gnarly if I donโt have a bite to eat first. But that problem disappears completely when I take it on a full stomach.
Overall, if youโre looking for a complete vitamin with extra gut support formulations, this is for you! If youโre patching together other vitamins or have stomach sensitivities, it might not be a fit. At $39.99 a month, youโre certainly making more of an investment than store-brand generic multivitamins (but you are getting a higher quality product in my opinion).
My review of Seedโs AMโ02โข Energy + Focus
Adherence rate: 45%
I havenโt been as good at taking this supplement because I prefer to space it out a little further from the morning multivitamin and my other daily meds. Which means, usually, I get swept up in my day and forget to take it! Also, since I already take a stimulant for my ADHD I donโt usually want to add more energy to my day โ I would imagine that if I were to hard-knuckle through a month of no ADHD meds and take this instead I might see more noticeable long-term effects ,but Iโm not currently at a point in my life where thatโs possible.
Seedโs AM-02 does help with steady, sustainable energy without the jitters of caffeine or the anxiety of my stimulant. (No existential dread as a side effect!) Within about an hour, I feel a bit more grounded and focused, making long afternoon meetings a little less taxing on my mind and body.
“Seedโs AM-02 does help with steady, sustainable energy without the jitters of caffeine or the anxiety of my stimulant.”
I donโt get the same digestive upset with this one! Although the taste is still a little โyeasty,โ and I do get that singular burp. But overall, this is a lot more gentle on my system.
If you need something fast-acting and highly energizing, this one might not be for you, but I find itโs a good addition to my weekend routine when I donโt quite need the intensity of a stimulant, or if Iโve already taken a stimulant earlier in the day. Itโs a little more affordable than the daily multi, clocking in at $34.99 a month, and since I donโt take it every day I find itโs a useful supplement to keep on hand.
My review of Seedโs PMโ02โข Sleep + Restore
Adherence rate: 90%
Of the three of these supplements, this is the one that has had the most immediately noticeable results, and is the one I remember to take most often since itโs right by my bedside. I fall asleep more easily and faster โ my Oura ring sleep latency numbers are usually lower on nights I take this supplement.
“Of the three of these supplements, this is the one that has had the most immediately noticeable results.”
As a vivid dreamer, I do notice that this helps me feel a little more rested even after heavy dream nights. I donโt toss and turn as much, and overall I just feel more steady in my sleep cycle. Thereโs no grogginess the next morning (which hasnโt always been true for me when it comes to melatonin supplements). Plus, I LOVE bringing this with me when I travel! It helps me sleep a little more soundly when Iโm in a new environment and out of my usual routine.
The flavor is nonexistent, and thereโs no digestive upset with this one. The one drawback here, which is true for all of these supplements, is that itโs a bit larger than supplements Iโm used to taking.
If youโre looking for a knockout sleep aid, this one wonโt be for you โ but itโs certainly for you if you want a smoother off-ramp from your day into your sleep. At $34.99 for a month, this one gets my full seal of approval for balancing quality, effectiveness, without breaking the bank. If I only recommended one of these three, itโd be the PM-02!
Who Seedโs Co-Biotics are for (and not for)
While I have enjoyed the benefits, the biggest drawbacks for me are taste, size, and sensitivity. Seedโs pills are quite large, and the DM-02 and AM-02 have a flavor to them that doesnโt make me excited to take them. And truly, that does make a difference for me when it comes to easily adding them consistently to my routine.
“While I have enjoyed the benefits, the biggest drawbacks for me are taste, size, and sensitivity.”
Outside of that, Seedโs supplements will land best for someone who already cares about gut health and likes the idea of a scienceโy, singleโbrand routine: one capsule for nutrients, one for focus, one for sleep. If youโre caffeineโsensitive, prefer steadier energy over big spikes, or have tried basic melatonin and standard multis and wanted something a little more thoughtful, youโll probably appreciate what Seed is doing here.
Theyโre not the best fit if your diet and sleep are already highly dialed in and you rarely notice a difference from supplements, if youโre on a tight budget, or if youโre looking for dramatic, overnight changes. And if you take other prescription medications, these are very much in the โtalk to your doctor firstโ category rather than a casual addโon to your cart.
Final thoughts
Overall, Iโm definitely continuing my commitment to the sleep supplement as Iโve noticed the biggest changes there. Iโm also going to revamp my breakfast routine to support the daily multivitamin as well!
“I know I can do better about consuming my daily nutrients with a balanced diet, but Iโm happy to have this on hand to support any gaps.”
I know I can do better about consuming my daily nutrients with a balanced diet, but Iโm happy to have this on hand to support any gaps. I am going to keep the energy and focus supplement on hand as-needed โ since itโs the easiest to forget, I donโt want to push myself too hard just yet.
